Once upon a time, in a small village adorned with flower-filled gardens and fruit-bearing trees along its streets, there lived a young girl named Perlita. She had shiny brown hair that sparkled under the sun and a smile that could light up the entire neighborhood. From a young age, Perlita learned from her mother, Estela, the importance of caring for the environment.

Estela was a wise and loving woman with long black hair, usually tied back in a ponytail. She took great pride in her garden, filled with flowers of a thousand colors and fragrances, and loved teaching Perlita all about plants and how to nurture them.

One day, while Estela was watering the petunias and carnations, Perlita came running up with a smile that stretched from ear to ear, holding something in her hands. They were flower pots made out of recycled soda bottles. Surprised and curious, Estela asked her daughter where she had gotten such pots.

With eyes sparkling with excitement, Perlita replied, «I made them, Mom! I learned at school that we can reuse things we normally throw away, and I thought of making these pots for your flowers. I know how much you love them, so I thought it would make you happy.»

Touched by her daughter’s gesture and the creativity she had shown, Estela hugged Perlita tightly and together they planted some new seeds in the recycled pots. Estela took this moment to talk to Perlita about the importance of taking care of our planet and how even small acts like reusing bottles could make a big difference.

The next day, Perlita woke up early, excited to show her pots at school. After breakfast and getting ready, she grabbed her backpack and a black bag filled with more bottles she had collected to make more pots. She walked to school with a determined step, thinking about how her classmates would react to her recycling project.

Perlita was the first to arrive at school, but she noticed something odd. It seemed that something or someone was rummaging in the cleaning room. Curious, she stealthily approached and slowly opened the door. Inside, she found her friend Petter, a boy from her class who was also known for his love for the environment. Petter was organizing eco-friendly cleaning products he had brought from home to teach others about greener options.

Petter was surprised to see Perlita but quickly shared her enthusiasm for making their school a more eco-friendly place. Together, they decided to present a project to the principal, proposing the implementation of more sustainable practices at school. The principal, impressed by the children’s initiative and passion, approved their project and gave them permission to start an ecology club.

The following months were a whirlwind of activity for Perlita and Petter. They organized workshops where they taught other students how to make recycled pots and use environmentally friendly cleaning products. Each project they started, each seed they planted in their bottle pots, reinforced their friendship and their commitment to the planet.

Soon, other schools in the district began to adopt similar initiatives, inspired by Perlita and Petter’s work. The ecology club grew, not just in their school but across the entire community. Perlita, with the support of her mother and her new friend, had managed to create a small oasis of green awareness in her town.

Perlita’s story became an example for many, demonstrating that creativity and a love for nature can go hand in hand to change the world. And so, in a garden full of flowers planted in colorful pots made from recycled bottles, Perlita and Estela spent another afternoon together, talking about plants, love, and how every little act counts in the great task of caring for our planet.
