Once upon a time, there was a young girl named Emily who lived in a small town. She worked in a bakery, where the sweet smell of freshly baked bread filled her days. Despite loving her job, Emily often dreamed of seeing the world beyond her little town. She imagined walking through the bustling streets of distant cities, tasting new foods, and discovering new cultures.
One sunny morning, while Emily was kneading dough for a batch of loaves, something extraordinary happened. The mailman delivered a letter addressed to her. Emily, who rarely received mail, wiped her hands on her apron and opened the envelope curiously. Inside, she found a golden ticket, along with a letter that read:
«Congratulations, Emily! You have won an all-expenses-paid trip to Seoul, South Korea! Your adventure awaits.»
Emily couldn’t believe her eyes. She had never won anything before, and now she had a ticket to one of the most exciting cities in the world! Her heart raced with excitement. Without thinking twice, she grabbed her phone and called her best friend, Johana.
«Johana! You won’t believe what just happened!» Emily exclaimed.
«What is it?» Johana asked, curious.
«I’ve won a trip to Seoul! And guess what? You’re coming with me!»
Johana squealed with joy on the other end of the line. They had always talked about traveling together, and now their dream was about to come true.
The days leading up to their departure were filled with excitement and preparation. Emily and Johana packed their suitcases with everything they thought they might need—clothes, cameras, and, of course, a notebook to document every part of their adventure.
Finally, the day of the trip arrived. Emily and Johana stood in the airport, their eyes wide with anticipation. The sound of announcements filled the air, and the hustle and bustle of travelers surrounded them. They checked in, boarded the plane, and soon found themselves flying high above the clouds.
«Look, Johana!» Emily said, pointing out the window. «We’re flying into the unknown!»
After what felt like a lifetime in the air, the plane touched down in Seoul. As soon as they stepped off the plane, the vibrant energy of the city greeted them. The bright lights, the sound of traffic, and the sheer size of everything was overwhelming in the best possible way.
The first place they visited was the famous Han River. Emily had seen pictures of it before, but seeing it in person was something else entirely. The river sparkled under the sunlight, and the city skyline rose majestically in the background. Emily took out her camera and snapped photos of everything—Johana pointing excitedly at the river, the boats floating lazily by, and the people walking along the riverbanks.
They spent the next few days exploring every corner of Seoul. One afternoon, they took the cable car to the top of Namsan Mountain to see the iconic Namsan Tower. From there, they could see the entire city sprawled out beneath them. The view was breathtaking, and for a moment, neither of them could speak. It was hard to believe they were standing on the other side of the world, living a dream they had only talked about.
«Can you believe we’re here?» Johana finally whispered, her voice full of wonder.
Emily shook her head, smiling. «No, but I’m so glad we are.»
Their adventure continued as they wandered through the lively streets of Gangnam, tasted delicious Korean food, and visited ancient palaces that told the stories of Korea’s rich history. They tried on traditional hanbok, laughed as they fumbled with chopsticks, and learned a few basic Korean phrases to get by.
One evening, as they sat by the Han River watching the sunset, Emily reflected on everything they had experienced.
«You know, I always dreamed of traveling,» she said, her voice soft. «But I never thought it would actually happen.»
